About two years ago my wife and I purchased our first home and used Liberty Bank of Utah for the financing. I don’t think we were naive about going with them. We hadn’t really heard anything about them good or bad. They soon changed that with all the troubles they put us through. I will say that we were naive about the problems because the more we talk to people at Liberty Bank the more we realize that they don’t know how to service a loan.

The final straw just last week was when we refinanced and they would not give us any kind of documentation to back up the payoff balance that they reported. They said to us three times as we requested some copies of our statements. “I don’t care”, “I don’t care”, and “I don’t care”. They also said that they were celebrating our leaving and that they were glad to get rid of one of their customers. We were more happy to be rid of them even though it cost us $6,000+ in closing costs to refinance with a different company.

As you will see from the rest of the blog their unreasonableness to document the actions they made with our account and the absurd hoops that they made us jump through for the last two years. This blog documents our feelings and Liberty Bank’s actions so that other consumers are more informed what they may be getting into if they choose to use them as a business.
